I am pastor Roy G. Meksch. I’ve been pastoring for over 60 years. Back in 1968, God spoke to me while I was pastoring a little church in Texas. He spoke to me in such a way as to lead me to the great Northwest. I loaded my wife, three little girls, and all the furniture that we needed to take, into a U-Haul trailer. I hitched it to my car and we traveled northwest, not knowing where God would surely lead us, but knowing that God was in control and that he would lead us where He would want us to be. Needless to say, we wound up in Coos Bay where a small church was trying to get started. They had six adults, several children and dilapidated old building about to fall down. As God spoke to my heart showing me that this would be the place He would have us to serve, we settled down. I arrived on a Wednesday evening at 9 0’clock and Thursday morning by 10 0’clock, God gave me a job so that I could take care of my family. God has moved in some tremendous ways in our ministry here in Oregon. As our church grew, souls were saved, bus ministries developed, a senior homes ministry came to be and a mission program began. 41 1/2 years, I received a call to go back to Texas and take a church that was in need. I spent 15 years there. From there I retired and moved back to North Bend. The church I had started called me to be their pastor even though I was older. We have a very sweet church, a loving church, a church where anybody can attend.
